Hi everyone Captain Zac here - on this late-season (July 2021) king salmon trolling session I was hoping for a king or two to round out the season but got a different surprise instead.
After a decent amount of trolling, I ended up getting into a few pacific cod - which make EXCELLENT halibut bait! Although these little cod weren't the deliciously smokable king salmon I was hoping for, it was still a really enjoyable outing and I obtained halibut bait for future halibut fishing trips.
